THE BUDDY SYSTEM.

Here are maps and locations of places where SCTA hold its events during the SoCalTrials season (Sept-May). We also practice in other areas, where the “buddy system” comes in. We don’t publish these locations in order to protect them. Ask a riding buddy for directions, please. And never publish them yourself. Thank you!

Cougar Buttes at Johnson Valley OHV Area, also reffered to as “Lucerne”, is one of the most amazing places for trials on this planet. If you are riding with the Plonkers, you are riding here. Great camping with easy RV access.

Romoland: Riverside County east of Perris. Site of VOTE’s two rounds per season. Year-round riding available by contacting the local property owner. Map here

McCain Valley. San Diego County. If you are riding with SDTR, this is your trials paradise.

Motoventures. East of Temecula. Host to El Trial de España. A private property. Not available for ‘open’ riding aside of SCTA events. Click for a map to Motoventures.

Bobcat Meadow Campground: SDTR 2025/26 Season Round 3. East of San Diego off the 8 freeway. Map here

Directions to Bobcat Meadow Campground are easily found via google. Go 37 miles east from San Diego on I-8 then exit Buckman Springs rd. Go south 3 miles then turn right on Corral Canyon Tr Rd. From here it's a 20 minute drive (6 miles) up a narrow road with two-way traffic so try slow. This brings you to Four Corners where you'll turn left. Go 1 mile further to Bobcat Meadows Campground. Look for the pink ribbon.

Wagon Wheel OHV Area. Near Ridgecrest. Off Trona Rd, between 395 and 178. Open Desert. Good camping with easy RV access. Directions here.

Keysville OHV Area. Near Lake Isabella/Kernville. Off 178. Good camping with easy RV access. Riding off-trail available only during SCTA events. Directions to the pits here.
