…RESPECT CHECKERS and express gratitude for their service. Typically done by saying “Thank you for checking” on your last loop. Checkers spent their own gas money and time, traveling to this event, and volunteered 6+ hours of being in a section in whatever nature elements, scoring your performance.
Without Checkers [and Sign Up/Scoring Desk Staff], there is NO EVENT! In SoCal, we proud ourselves to feature Observed Events (vs self-checked). While it’s a major effort and burden on our Members and Clubs, we believe that this format brings more professional level to our events, as well as enjoyment to our riders.
