Round 3: The Gary LaPlante Trophy Trial // SDTR
The Round 3 of SCTA Championship 2023/24, hosted by SDTR (San Diego Trials Riders) at Motoventures, Cahuilla, California, is being held in honor of Gary LaPlante. An excellent rider, creative instructor, innovative thinker, general over-achiever and grumpy lover of life, business creator & owner, hard-ass friend, dad (to a similarly pain-in-a-butt son, whom we all love just as much…Hi Andre :), husband [no comments here!] …the list goes on and on!
Long story short: WE MISS YOU, GARY! Signing our lease agreement for the event is kinda boring now. There’s no one to fuss about ‘this and that’. Over the years of our negotiations, I grew fond of it! <3 I knew exactly what you’re gonna say, I played into it. It was like a dance. You drove me nuts, I got used to it. Cherished it even. Farewell, Friend! THANK YOU for everything! CHEEEEEERS TO YOU!
Gary put together this ULTIMATE BOOK ON RIDING! I own a copy and love to read it over and over. It’s REALLY GOOD!

The SCTA 2023/2024 Mototrials Season & Championship begins, Sunday September 24th, at Cougar Buttes, California. Presented by SoCal’s Plonkers Trials Club, Lior and the team have another awesome event planned. Featuring an adventure ride and more on Saturday the 23rd, with a phenomenal campfire in the evening.
Sunday morning- the Trial. 10:00 am. Classic high-desert trials on sand and stone, beneath the deepest azure skies.
