We are pleased to announce some exciting new changes for the 2025/26 SCTA Championship Season:
SCTA Membership Fee: The membership fee for SCTA is $50 per season. But from now until Dec. 31, 2025 we are offering a 100% discount on season memberships. So, the 2025/26 Membership is absolutely FREE if you sign up soon. Season membership is required for the annual championship and the Ironman award. What are you waiting for??? Sign up today!
2025/26 SCTA Members T-Shirts: We are printing a limited edition 2025/26 SCTA Members T-Shirt. Free for anyone who signs up as a 2025/26 member and attends at leat one event as a rider or checker.
Event sign-up and pricing: All event entry fees are $50 for 2025/26. Youth entries are still free. And sign-up for all events except SSMC is now through the SCTA website, making it easier and more convenient to sign up.
Class Names: In an effort to better align with AMA/NATC class naming conventions, we are slightly altering our class names. The new class names will be: Novice, Amateur, Intermediate, Clubman, Sportsman, Expert, and Pro. Effectively we are changing the old Sportsman to Amateur and renaming Advanced as Sportsman. We are working with our fellow clubs in Arizona and Northern California to align all the names in the region for greater clarity.
Event Ambassadors for Newbies: Anyone new to the sport or SCTA events can request an Event Ambassador to accompany them for the first loop of any trial. The Event Ambassador will show newbies the ropes, including how to ride the loop, how to read section markers, how to walk a section, tips on riding, scoring, and more. The goal is to make it as easy and painless as possible for newbies to enjoy our events. You can request an Event Ambassador during sign-up online or at the event. Anyone in any class may request an Ambassador.
Worker Points: A new worker points system will be implemented. Details will be shared soon, but if you’re familiar with the Sacramento PITS system, ours will be very similar. Stay tuned for more info.
Enhanced Communications: We are stepping up our communications game, starting with this running blog on the SCTA website home page. Stay tuned here for all the latest and greatest info. We’ll also be reaching out regularly via email with event announcements and possibly a recurring newsletter.
Section Marking: Again, in an effor to align with AMA/NATC, we will adopt new section markers that emulate the markers used at a National. The new markers may not be used at Plonkers Round 1 as we burn through some current inventory. But Romoland and beyond should have the new markers.
Section Gates & Clarity: Prior to each event, an impartial observer (someone who didn’t set up the sections) will walk each section to ensure section flow and gate clarity is on par with rider expectations. We hope to eliminate the hidden gates or confusing lines that sometimes creep up when you’ve built 10 sections in a weekend in the hot So Cal sun.
We have a few more changes and improvements we’re working on, but those will be announced later as they come to life. Really exciting things ahead for SCTA. Be sure to share the improvements with your riding buddies and point them here for more information. And we look forward to seeing you all for a new & improved SCTA championship season. Until then…keep those feet up!
