Mr. Scott Head, looking so very last year. Stylish and skillful, just the same.
Yep, apparently there are adult beverages to be had, near the plaques. Just sayin'...
More notes on the Cougar Classic. The Plonkers REALLY know how to put on a trial.
A real tech inspection, with a cone-lined path to the sign up area. Very classy.
Kevin Barda DNF’d early, and X-rays were positive: A broken finger, suffered in section 3 or 4. I almost regret teasing him! Almost. (He's my brother. Therefore, no slack from me).
Honda Z-50-mounted Carson Alten finished the day! His very first trial. There is something to be said about your first trial being at Cougar Buttes, and surviving not 3, but FOUR loops. All our hats are off to you, young man! Keep on riding.
Mike Salsman doing his best ‘Bloody Elbow’ impersonation.
Finisher Awards. Stick ‘em to your fridge, your toolbox, wherever. Seriously- Plonkers still hand out finisher awards! Who does that anymore??- All I can say, is Charlie Rowlett rocks, and his team put on one fantastic trial!
Hi all. Piutes is ON! Big fun in some big mountains, on some BIG rocks.
First off, download the flier, complete with a maps page, which you will definitely need. Next, sign up online. The button is up there on the left side of this page. This act alone will keep the sign up crew smiling all day. Then get your lazy summer butt out to the Piutes. FULL SECTION Descriptions HERE. And just where is the event exactly? South of Lake Isabela, west of Bakersfield, east of Ridgecrest. Actually, a Google pin is right here, my friend. Stay all weekend.
A link to a few pictures from last year.
Loop is in, ribbons are in place. The boys of San Diego have stepped up, big time. Look for these windmills off the 8, and you're almost there. Come on out Saturday, and make a weekend of it. Weather will be awesome, as only San Diego County can offer! (OK, OK, I just clicked on that weather link, and let me say it might get a wee bit chilly, so pack some warm duds) Don't know what else to say, except to say, see you there! I'll be the guy with the big fat smile on my face all day.
The SCTA Web team (me) arrived Saturday afternoon for a quick loop blast and section recon. All in place, ribbons are up. Loop and sections: super fun, with some new 'adventure ride' parts in the loop. Hats off to the whole VOTE Cahuilla set up team. Hey you so cal trials guy: let's ride!!
