Thats a wrap

Another El Trial de Espana is in the book. It was a super weekend for riding. If you did not make it out to the event, you missed an exceptional trial in perfect and proper trials weather. Many prospective class champions were tested one final time as the season ended. Every rider I spoke to without exception was exhilarated and exhausted. Through all this the champions rose to the top of their classes. Saturday night the barbecue was lightly attended due to the bitter weather, but nonetheless we sold 40 dinners that were beyond delicious.
Sunday's Exhibition was held in cool sunshine with a good sized crowd in attendance. At one point we estimated 85 to 100 spectators including their pets and babies. The Exhibition sections were quite tight and testy while simultaneously being huge, if that makes any sense. Suffice to say that many times throughout the morning all eight riders could be seen standing as a group just staring at the sections, trying to figure out what kind of sadistic mind could imagine and build such sections. The competition was dramatic and entertaining. In the end it was just an amazing spectacle to see riding and effort at such an elevated level. I am facklempt!

I must thank our checkers for spending the entire day in very difficult conditions scoring our happy riders. Chris Cullins and the VOTE team must be thanked for building a trial that was described by an out of state rider as "the most fun I have ever had on a motorcycle in my entire life"! Thanks to my Exhibition Executioneers, Peter Croft, Martin Belair, Kipp Webb, Damon Barda and Evan Barda. I cannot have had better help, and it could not have been done without you. Again, thanks to all! See you next year, don't miss it!
