Hi all, I cannot beleive the end of the year is upon us. But it is, and I would like to take this opportunity to say I hope your Christmas was warm and filled with friends and family and joy. And of course, Happy New Year! So... If you are looking for a great way to participate, and to start the new year right, come on out to Romoland this weekend for some section and loop set up, both Saturday AND Sunday, 12/31 and 1/1. Romo map on the left side of this very page.
And speaking of New Year traditions, my dad would always ride with his buddies on New Year's morning, riding the trails and tracks up to the top of Saddleback. As I, and then my brother Kevin were old enough, we got to join in. This would be about '77 - '80.
Yesterday, my brother and I had a superb day of riding at Romoland. You could not have staged it better; a full 'On Any Sunday' kind of day (I reference the final scene from the film, mind you), complete with Steve McQueen's step-off endo from the end of the film, re-enacted by Kevin. Big rocks, perfect PERFECT weather, and time with family and bikes. Not a bad day. The end of the year tradition lives on. May you all have a Happy New Year!
