From Los Angeles or San Diego, head north to Bakersfield. From highway 99, take exit 58/178 east/Rosedale Hwy. Continue east on 178 through Kern River Canyon, approximately 43 miles. Take exit 43/Kernville Road, turn left. Turn Left again in one mile, at Keyesville Road. Camp and staging area is ahead, about a half mile. That pin on the map below?.. Groceries and gas are readily available back in town, where you exited at Kernville Road. There's even a McDonald's!
